Description
Thats all forks
The first tool we used to make meaning out of our world, was taste. Very few things could we understand, in the beginning, but incoherent images and oral arousals. And that’s how life got it’s flavour… Soon, the fork became an extension of our hand, and a necessary one at that. An everyday tool used to claim our food and, of course, our delight.
We, people of the Western World, differ from the Orientals with their chopsticks, as we attach an ornamental or social value to our forks, we even anthropomorphize them from time to time. Forks, were not used on a daily basis until the 18th century in Europe and the 19th in the United States of America, despite the fact that they were invented back in the days of the Byzantine Empire. Thus, forks are an integral part of our contemporary world.
