The works of the first and second period consist mainly of austere geometrical forms.
They date from the beginnings of 90s till today. The works focus on the power of the nature.
The works of the first period, through their composition, which develops around their core, highlight the inner force of things, which spreads outward, changing the initial form to another entity

The works of the second period are an organic continuation of the previous work .
The idea of the inner force and transmutation is accomplished by the idea of the creation of the world. These works treat ideas such as the dialogue between opposites (empty- complete, small-big, identical- different), the relation between male-female, fertility and reproduction and the perpetual life circle.

Dimitris Fortsas was born in 1957 in Greece.
